Photographer's Note

Here in Santo Domingo, we have the blessing of a very nice Malecón in the Caribbean Sea shores. Malecon is a favorite place to spend some time and relax, but also to have a few drinks and maibe a hamburger or hot dog "a-la-dominicana".

Near the Obelisco Macho, in a place called "El Rompeolas" you can find a bunch of snacks bars that we use to call "tarantines". These places usually are sponsored by local beer or soda brands, like the one on my picture, which is sponsored by Coca Cola.

"Toma lo bueno" ("Drink the best" could be a translation) is the new ad campaing motto for the soda, and many of the tarantines are painted by that motif.

So, I tried to frame both the tarantín and the typical parrillada that they use to cook the hamburgers.

I shooted from a distance with 300mm, and for that reason the sea is out of focus. I think I should better use a wide-angle to have the sea in focus. What do you think?
