Photographer's Note
This is an archeological site located near San Juan Opico and Las Flores, two villages in center-west of El Salvador. It was inhabited since the year 400 and was abandoned in the year 600 due to a volcanic eruption.
The site allows to appreciate the everyday life of a farmer Mayan village 1400 years ago, so it is often called the Pompeii of America.
It was discovered just in 1976 and is a UNESCO world heritage site since 1993.

Hi Pedro,it's very interesting to know that there is another Pompei with the same history and well preserved after hundreds and hundreds before the volcan eruption.A simple but interesting capture showing us this corner in an excellent way despite the dark light,i like it! Have a nice day and thanks,Luciano
