Mirabelle Gardens, a photo from Salzburg, West

Photographer's Note

This is a view of the Mirabelle palace with the walkway leading the eye to the "Do-Re-Me" steps from the "Sound of Music".
This Baroque masterpiece was initially built as “Schloß Altenau” under the reign of Prince Archbishop Wolf Dietrich von Raitenau in 1606. It was a present for his concubine Salome Alt and most famous for its splendid gardens.
The baroque Mirabell Gardens were designed by the architect, Fischer von Erlach.. They are filled with statues and reflecting pools. Julie Andrews and her seven charges showed off their singing voices in The Sound of Music in these gardens.

Ils sont vraiment magnifiques ces jardins du Mirabelle Palace. C'est net, c'est propre, bien coloré, le tout sous un magnifique ciel bien fourni.
Il y a juste à corriger la perspective pour remettre le tout d'aplomb.

Hello Asa,

The connection with the very popular musical is very interesting.
What a very beautiful place Saltzburg appears to be and one which I would love to visit.
I like your angled view of the building which allows me to see more of its context and style.
The red in the gardens really livens them up and along with the pathway, helps to lead the eye into the shot.

Hi Asa,
You did a great choice of POV to present this scenic palace and its gardens. The clarity is very good and the colours very well rendered, making the photo very attractive. The people, who often clutter this kind of image, are nice to see here. The only thing I think could be improved was the darkness of the shadows.

Great piece of Baroque achitecture that you present here. I like the composition with the alley and the building that are forming a nice diagonal.
I think the image would need some line adjustments, due to ? tilt or wide angle ?
