Photographer's Note
At the end station of the highest going charlift just below the hilltop of the Stuhleck mountain at altitude of about 1760 m asl. The ski-region is called Stuhleck and is located over Spital am Semmering.
I had luck that day, it was beautifully sunny, cool (-14°C at 11 AM) and the visibility was great. The snow was dry and really fast...actually too fast (with icy surfaces) for my untrained legs and my old ski with dull edges.
The whole Austro-Hungarian monarchy collected in this ski-centre: Slovaks, Czechs, Hungarians and even some Austrians :-) gathered to enjoy a sunny day, one of the few from the beginning of 2009.
There are many chairlifts and parking lots, but I strongly do NOT recommend staying at the central parking lot, as the visitors have to take the chairlift to get to the slopes and back to their cars as well, because there is no ski slope descending down to this parking lot. Check this ski center´s website for more info...and enjoy!
