MIDDELBURG

Today, since noon, there has been snow, ideal to visit these rural communities with my neighbour with his car, and take some pictures
Hopefully you can enjoy this visit

Provincial border with East Flanders and the Netherlands, Zeeland, lies Middelburg.
This municipality is part of Maldegem.

Middelburg was built between 1452 and 1465 by order of Pieter Bladelin, governor of the finances of Philip the Good and treasurer of the Order of the Golden Fleece. It included a church, a monastery, a guest house, ramparts, a drainage canal to the Lieve (canal Ghent - Damme) and a castle. A free annual fair was set up from 1465. After the destruction of Dinant by Charles the Bold, Bladelin brought a number of craftsmen from Dinant to Middelburg. This craft gave Middelburg the privileges of Edward IV, King of England, after which a cloth industry was also set up. After the death of Pieter Bladelin, his widow, Margareta de Vageviere, received permission from Charles the Bold to rule over the manor.

Hallo John,
Er is hier inmiddels ook een bescheiden laagje sneeuw gevallen. Dit is een mooi winterlandschap. Goede compositie met het meertje links. De bomen steken mooi af tegen al het wit.

Hallo John,
Je was er tijdig bij om de waarschijnlijk enige sneeuw deze winter te fotograferen. Morgen zal hij al gesmolten zijn.
Je toont ons hier een prachtig winterlandschap, in een goede compositie en met uitstekende diepte.
Het water is niet bevroren en vertoont heldere weerspiegelingen van de boomstammen.
Prachtige variatie van sneeuw met boomstammen en takken.

Hello Jon,
The snow is nice, as long as it lasts, and the reflections in the small pond are also very nice, but my favourite elements in this photo are the five trees in the foreground. Only two of them are standing straight, while the other three are bent in the strangest ways. It is like they were designed by an artist. In this kind of weather you were safer in your friend's car than on your bicycle.

Beautiful!
You have captured an excellent photograph, revealing how the snow affects the colours and the mood of the countryside!
Those bending trees allow the snow to congregate on their trunks and, in contrast to the upright versions, look to be bowing.
You have positioned the trees vey well in your composition so that it presents five main trees as an introduction to the lake and the the b/g of snowy saplings.

A car was definitely safer than your bike in this weather!

Bare trees and this little pond wouldn't alone make a remarkable photo. But fresh snow makes the ambience a whole lot different. There has been quite snowy pictures from different parts of Europe. Maybe I should add some too.

The naked trees animate the snowy scenery and gave contrast to white, John.

The branches immense detail bring out so much more from this fine composition of crisp deep snow and bitter cold. The shiny stillness of the water gives a nice break that also retains good white snow colour. Excellent shot

what a lovely spot!
The little lake makes such an interesting subject here, it provides the opportunity for the reflection.
The trees are so decorative. Especially the two which are bending over the lake to each other as if trying to kiss.
