Saturday, since noon, there has been snow, ideal to visit these rural communities with my neighbour with his car, but both wear a mask against Covid-19, and take some pictures

Sint Annapark MALDEGEM.

This beautiful park is connected in two parts with a small bridge to both banks. In 1957, after the last lord of the castle, Fréderic Dhont, had died, the castle was bought by the municipality. It became a drawing academy (where I myself took lessons for years) and from 1981 a police station.

The park, now called Sint-Annapark, in English landscape style, shows a few ponds as well as a statue of Diana, depicted with deer. The park is publicly accessible.
Saturday was the setting of real winter fun for many children, but adults also played with the children

Hello John,
This is not quite like the winter landscapes shown by Pieter Breughel, but it is nice enough with quite many persons enjoying the park on the cold day. Some snow is still resting on the branches of the beautiful trees and on the bushes in the foreground. I am surprised to see the red chairs on the lawn, but they provide very nicely bright objects. It is a very pleasant view and as usual a perfectly taken photo.

Hallo John,
Gisteren was hier alle sneeuw alweer weg, maar toen het er toch even lag leverde dat mooie plaatjes op. De kinderen trokken er ook meteen op uit hier in het park. Die grote oude boom is ook prachtig.

Hallo John,
Vorige zaterdag begon het bij ons slechts tegen 3 u. in de namiddag te sneeuwen. Eer er een sneeuwtapijt lag, was er reeds weinig daglicht om nog foto's te nemen en zondagmorgen was alle sneeuw reeds gesmolten.
Jij was er dus tijdig bij. Ook de kinderen op de foto beleven winterpret.
Mooie compositie met de takken van de meest dichtbij staande boom hangend over de kruinen van de bomen in de verte.

Hello John,

It makes me smile; the adults seem to have as much fun in the snow as the children! And, it is important that there are public places for people to share such enjoyment.

There is a lovely, wintery atmosphere created by the fine layer of snow and I particularly like it on the branches of the huge tree, so strongly positioned in the frame. In fact, that tree is really important to your composition, its trunk on the thirds line and its branches spreading out over the scene, either side.

I wonder who brought the red chairs!
I cannot imagine that they are there all the time.

Tree branches are always so photogenic in winter and the very image of 'a blanket of snow' superbly taken showing that snow just as it should be. It looks cold white and contrasty
The figs adding a touch of scale to the image and there is something gently appealing about it. Excellent shot

The snow decorates the world so nicely. We have rain again, not much snow this year, maybe twice, which fast melted.
Lovely tree well placed off centre.
People in the distance provide a sense of scale, some life and color to the scene.

Je had geluk in Vlaanderen waar het een paar uur eerder ging sneeuwen dan hier in Haarlem. Het was al bijna donker toen de eerste vlokken vielen en de volgende morgen was alles alweer weg gedooid. Dus geen kans voor een paar mooie sneeuwfoto’s
Daardoor kan ik extra genieten deze fraaie foto.
