A friend brought me to this Flemish city with his car.
History
Deinze originated as Donsa or Dunsa. What this means is still unknown, but it may refer to a moss-rich area. This earliest mention can be found in the year 840. Saint Poppo, the Abbot of Stavelot, was born in 978 in Deinze. He later donated relics to his hometown, which he brought with him from his pilgrimages to the Holy Land. These relics are embedded in the wall of the Church of Our Lady.
In the feudal age Deinze was a seigniory in the hands of several prominent families; Poppo's father is the oldest known. Then there was Iwein van Aalst and his son, who held the seigniory in fief from the Counts of Flanders. Then came the Courtenay family, the Countess of Bar and the Count of Luxembourg.
Around 1300 Deinze was sold by Walram van Luxemburg to Robrecht van Bethune and it came back into the possession of the counts of Flanders. It did not last long because it became the property of Robrecht van Kessel, who again left it to the counts of Bar.
The early Gothic parish church of Our Lady was built in the 13th century. At the end of the 18th century, it was furnished with valuable furniture and various liturgical vessels.
I hope you like it

Hello John,
The flowers created a very bright and colourful corner that almost steals the attention from the fine church and the river winding towards the right side. It was a wonderful day for an excursion and the light and colours are perfect. I wonder what the blue and white cubes we see on the platforms in the river are.
Regards,
Gert

Hallo John,
Vele groeten, Paul

Hi John,
The length of the canal or river is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of Our Lady gothic church. The colors and the sharpness are very good. Have a nice day.

Hi John
Marvellous summer time capture by the canal in such concentration lovely how the different rich colours complement and contrast to deep blue sky! The Gothic Church is perfectly placed at the third as a strong focal point. This brightens up my cloudy day here in SG....
A pleasure to view
Best regards

Hi John,
A bright and colourful photo with excellent sharpness and depth of field. The church looks good in the sunlight, standing on its own, and the flowers on the left add some bright colour. I see there are traffic lights for the boats.

Hi John.
Curious history of this city, which was passed from one family to another as if it were a car.
The church is a magnificent work of architecture and I really like the chosen POV, with the view of the canal and on the left those beautiful petunias.
Wonderful colors, excellent sharpness and splendid clarity.
Well done. I like.
You have a good day.
Kind regards.
Luis.

Hi John,
this was a great weather day. I admire this incredible clarity which is often visible in your photos. I wonder whether it is the camera and lens which results in such an extraordinary quality of the image.
Nice spotless sky. Colorful flowers in the foreground.
Very well seen and captured,
