Here is the last picture of my serie with the gilles...
Now, it's after 12:00 pm and this is the "brûle bosse" where the gilles are dancing with another music around a fire burning a representation of a gille.
This is the most sad part of the carnival because it's the end and there are often gilles who have tears in their eyes at this moment...

Tout a effectivement une fin. Chez nous c'est le rababou que l'on brulle pour faire venir le beau temps... tout manqué cette années avec le retour de la neige depuis 3 jours... c'est pire qu'avant.
La photo est bonne avec un bon angle pour voir et le feu, et le gille victime, et les autres...

le pauvre ...quel dommage du bruler un si beau costume...cependant c'est la coutume...les couleurs sont vives et bien rendues...le détail des flammes est du plus bel effet...bien vu l'artiste...raratata raratata...rire...amitiés BI

Hi Fred. I am not exactly a carnival fanatic, but I have to admit that your series with the gilles has really been interesting to follow. This is a good conclusive photo in which the atmosphere with the fire in the foreground, and the gilles standing by in the back, is well conveyed.

This has been an interesting series of pictures, to say the least. Another good shot with good contrast control which can be difficult with the bright fire and dark of the night. nice shot!

Minä en pidä siitä,että tällaisia inkvisitiotapoja pidetään kuvauksellisina. Onpahan vaan suomen kielelläkin jokin kannanotto täällä sivulla, kun kaikkia muitakin kieliä on. Tuo inkvisitio sanana lienee kyllä kansainvälinen. Mielipiteelläni ei tietysti ole muuta merkitystä, kuin että se tulee kiinnostamaan. miksi näin menettelin :)

Il y a un côté journalistique (voire reporter) dans tes publications. J'aime beaucoup ces différentes rubriques relatives aux traditions ou événements médiatiques.
Cette photo est encore très intéressante et un peu triste, car elle sonne la fin de la fête !

Eh oui les meilleures choses ont une fin, belle conclusion pour ton interessante serie sur le carnaval de Nivelles, je trouve interessant de pouvoir comparer les differences entre les celebrations dans les differents pays. AU fait, tu as un look super en gille !

Werkelijk het einde van de feesten Fred, de pop verbranding is hier zeer duidelijk, het was zeer aangenaam om naar deze serie te kijken, altijd met voldoende kleur en ambiance.

Hi Fred! :-) Lovely festive capture and wonderful colourful costumes at night. The fire as the only light source makes the atmosphere impressively warm and brings fine impact. Very well done!
