Photographer's Note

For my 3rd TE Meeting (and not the last), I have chosen to present this bridge while Arches Blue located on the Meuse in Liege.
The Arches Bridge is a bridge of Liege to connect the Outremeuse district downtown.

The first bridge Arches dates from the Middle Ages. It was destroyed several times by floods or conflict. The current bridge was completed in 1947, the previous having been destroyed during the war. This is the sixth version of the bridge whose foundation dates back to 1025, making it the oldest of Liege.

Please note that batteries are decorated with four statues symbolizing the birth of the City of Liège by a mother and her child, a knight evokes the Middle Ages, a figure with broken chains mentioned the Belgian revolution of 1830, the last statue, a person to conceal a grenade into his coat to express resistance to German occupation during the last two wars.
