Photographer's Note

Dear colleague photographers on TE, I’m one year member of this community, I placed my 300th photograph.
I want thanks everyone for visiting my photographs.
Also I want wish an everyone Lovely Christmas and Happy New Year, and peace in the world for 2005.
Perhaps there is other one colleague whom I have never visited, perhaps little a pity that.

I like the layering & reflections in this image. The foreground lighting on the grass is nice, & the row of 3 trees at the back adds a good graphic element.

300 hundred high level photographies, John, and a very beautiful composition for the anniversary.
Again I am impressed by the care you take to compose this picture, all is balanced and the trees and the mill well positioned to be on the sky.

Bonjour John,
Couleurs très chaudes d'un soleil couchant ou levant, un paysage qui évoque le calme, le silence et la retraite.
La présence des épis rougeoyants au premier plan et les reflets délicats et un peu brouillés dans l'eau.
Du grand art.

Je te souhaite , un peu en avance aussi, un joyeux Noel et une bonne année 2005.

My warmest congratulations to you on your 300th post and geat achievements, the Vlanderen folder on the TE galley belongs mostly to you ! This one is again a nice addition with the elements we know well now, the mill, good light, a great reflection...

Happy TE anniversary, John. Your 300th photo comes with all the qualities we have come to expect from you: a very balanced composition with good use of light and natural colors. The foreground weeds are well kept in the frame as the view glances across the canal, towards the windmill and the three trees at its side. The reflection of course is a fine enhancement. Well done. Merry Christmas and all the best in the New Year for you, too.

Proficiat John, wel gemeend zekers dat jij hier ons welbeminde Vlaanderen zo mooi in beeld hebt gebracht met unieke voorbeeldjes van hoog kwalitatieve zichten, je kunt wel de ambassadeur van Vlaanderen genoemd worden op vlak van photografie . En deze foto bevestigt dit alleen maar, mooi diepe kleuren, een landschap waar Permeke en andere schilders van zou dromen om op doek te zetten. Het wordt tijd om een eigen site op te zetten, niet ?

John ten eerste gefeliciteerd,met U 300 ste foto en dat U het een jaar heeft volgehouden.Maar ja, wat is nou een jaar. De tijd vliegt voorbij. Even over de foto.
Hij is prachtig John. Het lage licht geeft een bijzondere sfeer aan de photo. De compositie is bijna perfect. Ja John bijna,want persoonlijk had ik toch aan de linkerzijde er zeg maar 1 cm afgehaald, zodat U die takken en die halve boom precies kwijt was. Dit is ook mijn enigste kritiek, maar John U weet ik ben een zeveraar.Erg goed werk.

Lovely classic flanders landscape. Great light you had for this one, I especially the way the low sun catches the grasses in the foreground.

First of all let me congratulate you for your 300th posting!!!

This confirms you as an excellent contributor here on TE! Thanks for that, indeed.

Regarding the picture, it is very good in quality, very neat, sharp details.

A typical choice would have been to have the trees and the moulin reflected on water perfectly.

I like the plants covering these reflections but not totally...

well seen and done, congratultions again!

It's way more then just three trees. you have first of a very good light in this shot. Also theres a teffiric mirroreffect. Not to meantion the charming windmill.

All together it makes a very hreat pic which we all enjoy.

Excellent photograph for your 300th post and 1st year anniversary in TE, John! Very good choice; I have seen your other pics of this windmill, they're all wonderful - the clarity and colors are at its best! Congratulations for being in TE for a year. 300 posts in 1 year is about >5 pics/per week - you're very productive, John! I'm waiting for the next 300 :)

Nice shot for your 300th post. Those trees are really interesting. They seem so solid and round and suddenly little thin branches shoot out from the top. It's a beautiful and calm autumn shot, much warmer than the winter photo with that lighting. And such a nice calm serenity in the water and the reflection. The plants in the foreground really frame the bottom nicely and add depth. But it's those trees I really find interesting. Nicely shown.

Your 300th Photo and please keep them coming John. Beautiful thoughts must have raced into your mind when you saw this. A solitary windmill sitting on a knoll beside a river, viewed from across the river through the reeds, on a late afternoon. So peaceful this scene John.

I knew you would pick a masterpiece for your 300th, John. A splendid typical landscape and composition from you. You always mamange to show Flanders in the same kind of romantic beautiful light as Jeppe shows Funen (his island in the middle of Denmark). The windmill could maybe have been a tiny bit more into the picture - it is a little close to the edge.

J'avoue sincèrement John que cela m'est très difficile de choisir une de vos photos pour critiquer, le choix de belles images est très vaste.
J'apprécie ici la douce lumière latérale qui donne un bon relief à votre beau pays.

This is the "Lower Countries" in a picture. I like how you framed the different layers. The light and colors, again, are splendid. The windmill adds more charm to the great composition. Another painting through the lenses. Well done.

The windmill looks as a complementary item matching the three naked trees, John.
