Bruges

Bruges is the cycling city par excellence.

The city council of Bruges supports cycling high in the city
banner.
After all, cycling is healthy and good for it
environment.
The mobility plan covers the whole of Bruges
a cycle route network, to and from safely back and forth
to be able to cycle the edge to the center and from
sub-municipality to sub-municipality.
The fundamental difference with a recreational or purely functional cycle route is that you have the additional cycle route
a fast but also pleasant and safe way of
point A to point B. Use is made
of the newly installed bicycle connections and detours are kept to a minimum. That's why
the route par excellence for school-going students or for
commuting or commuting.

Hallo John, the cycle represents an eco friendly means of transportation in Bruges. It must be promoted in the city. Good idea to dedicate parking for the cycles. The passersby wrapped up warmly animate the scene. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Hello John,
The bicycles make Bruges look like a Dutch city. At least for shorter distances bicycles are much more convenient than cars, and so much better for the environment. Here they also provide an eye-catching focus for the photo, not as beautiful as the magnificent buildings, but just as important. It's a good composition with a difference, a compromise between a street-photo and a postcard. ;-)

Ondanks het grijze weer waren toch heel wat mensen op de fiets gestapt om naar de stad te gaan. Er staat hier een aardige verzameling op het plein. De gebouwen maken zoals altijd een uitstekende achtergrond.

Great photo. It's better to see hundreds of bicycles, than cars and motor-bikes in the center of the city resulting in no pollution! Like the composition, using this angle certainly increases the impact without losing the background interest clinched by some wonderful colours. Excellent shot

Not much fun cycling in the rain but always something happening and usually museums and art galleries are still open. A nice diffused light and an impressive backdrop of stylish old buildings. Tfs!

Ha! Ha! John, you must have loved this, since you are a cycling aficionado!
The cycles play a major part in your photograph and confirm their popularity, no matter what the weather is like!
They add interesting details to the square, that is surrounded by the characteristically, beautiful buildings of Bruges.
It is probable that the use of these bio-friendly bicycles, rather than cars, has helped to maintain the appearance of these fine buildings.

I guess in some countries around Europe, if you don't own a bike you could be viewed as strange haha. Here in Canada we don't use bikes very often, our cities are WAAAAAAAY to far apart for everyday bike use. But in small European cities and countries, yes. I wonder how many bikes are stolen each day? haha. nice shot with the bikes, the people and architecture so close up and well detailed, I like the stormy atmosphere too

very well captured rainy mood of the day.
The dark clouds so well pronounced and the pavement wet. People passing by in hurry and some carry umbrellas. The multitude of bikes indeed indicate it is a popular mean of transport there. Beautiful architecture contributed a fantastic background for the scene,
