Oostkerke bridge.
History of the bridge with the Damse canal.

This would once have been a port during Napoleon
There is nothing left of this old port here, but history has written its part here.
Monnikerede was a small port town in the north of the Belgian province of West Flanders, on the territory of Oostkerke, of which it was a hamlet. It was where the Damse Vaart runs today, between the Oostkerkebrug and the bend to Hoeke.

Hallo John,
Met het schuin staande riet op de voorgrond en de golven op het water geeft de foto de indruk dat het een heel winderige dag was.
De wolkenlucht is er ééntje typisch voor deze zomer.
Prachtige natuurfoto gepresenteerd in een mooie compositie en met uitstekende scherpte en diepte.

Hello John,
This is a pleasant view from the Belgian countryside showing a canal, lots of trees and nice buildings. It looks like a windy day, but I hope it didn't make your bicycle ride too tough. The light was good in spite of the fairly cloudy sky and the colours are fine.

Een mooi gezicht schuin op het kanaal dat omringd wordt door veel groen, zowel van de bomen als van het riet. De grote witte wolken in de blauwe luchten vormen een mooie achtergrond.

The length of the canal or river is creating depth. The point of view is showing the details of the trees anf of the buildings. The light is amking the colors to stand out. Have a nice day.

A peaceful view of the canal side I particularly like your chosen point of view by placing the reeds as strong foreground base. The fact that the fresh green colour is a bonus producing an excellent overall contrast. It's a good composition, excellent shot.

Lep pogled i trenutak, dobar tekst ...
Lepo zelenilo na obali, kuce i veliko drvece, dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom sa oblacima koji dolaze i najvaljuju promenu vremena.
Dobar tekst o koriscenoj tehnici i elementima snimka.
Kod mene su i dalje velike vrucine.

Hello John,

My immediate thought was how well you have inferred a windy day! These grasses, so useful in the f/g, appear to be lying almost flat! I very much like how their waving, bowing blades are guiding to the canal.
The buildings are welcoming focal features.

I think, I would have cropped the road, on the left, which seems to be trying to guide us away from the canal and the houses. Just my opinion, John.

I can imagine cycling against the wind with this weather :-)
But it's more fun and quicker ... cycling with the wind , better than the E-bikes :-)
I do remember this scene from your previous pictures.
This time, you show us the whole ... the bridge, houses and canal with the cloudy blue sky and greenery , so beautiful and peaceful.
