Ravda beach, a photo from Burgas, East

Photographer's Note

The village of Ravda is situated at South Black Sea coast in the Burgas district, between the town of Nessebar and the village of Aheloy.
During communism, the Ravda area was a village of fishers and the site of youth and student summer camps. In recent years, the town has experienced a building boom. Nowadays Ravda is almost bordering Nesebar and together with Sunny Beach resort and town of Sveti Vlas form a kind of large sea-side conglomeration - the Bulgarian Riviera.

Hello Ryszard, this was 2013, my guess is that those parasols might have to be moved if social distancing is to be observed!
It's a very interesting shot. The weather looks good, and the beach isn't too crowded.

It wasn't too crowded in mid-September, but the long lines of white umbrellas indicate that I wouldn't like to be here at the height of the season. But the umbrellas and their shadows create a nice pattern, which along with the relatively few visitors and the good light made for a good photo.

Ryszard, the picture immerses the viewers in the summer atmosphere. The lines of umbrellas and the beach chairs occupy a space rented to the tourists. Two rip raps appear in the bg. Fine colors, good sharpness, interesting photo note, regards.

Nice picture but today impossible through Covid-19, distancing of 1.50m. The good old time is over!

The vertical composition you chose is excellent and shows the beach, the sea and the silhouettes of the hills in the distance very well. The many umbrellas add a very nice pattern and nice diagonal lines.

Hello Ryszard,

You have given us a very interesting note about the history of this place and its rapid expansion and also shown us a very fine photograph. But I suppose that this photograph shows what is now history: no longer will people be close together on this beach and enjoying socialising and relaxing together on account of Covid-19. And this is likely to last for quite a long time!

But a lovely photograph with lots of human activity. The three long lines of white umbrellas make a bold statement for an excellent composition, the light is glorious and the colours rich. Perfect exposure and excellent detail and sharpness.

Pierwsze loty do Bulgarii chyba juz mozna kupowac.... czyli plazowane wakacyjne w zasiegu. Dobrze ze to Bulgaria a nie Czarnogora bo tam w wykazie ponad 100 narodowosci ktore moga ich odwiedzac zapomnieli o nas.

czesc Ryszard, Takie uporządkowane parasole, ich cienie są dobra okazją dla fotografa. Troche dziwne, zae pod parasolami nie ma łóżek. Pamiętam jak byłam w Bułgarii, to "obowiązkowe" były parawany :). Social distance tu nie zachowany.

nadal nie odwolano mich wakacji w Bulgarii nasierpien. Zastanawiam sie czy te parasolki beda teraz w wiekszych odstepach :)
A moze wszystko do tego czasu juz przycichnie...

It's funny how I'm looking at all those umbrellas, and thinking that they are too close together. Corona virus has changed the way we see things! This view from just a few years ago is very nice. The repeating umbrellas and shadows are very eye-catching.
