The "Quiet Nest" Palace and its park and estate near Balchik are situated in the lowland and it huddles amidst three steep shores, which makes it inaccessible for winds. At this place in 1924 year the Queen of Romania came to visit and converted that to her summer residence. The chapel is Christian orthodox and was made of local material, stone mainly, and covered with Turkish tiles. The murals inside have been worked out in a decorative style by a Romanian artist. The chapel is surrounded with a small yard with fountain and tombstone Christian monuments, most of which were brought over from Moldova. All these waft serenity and predispose to meditation. The Queen wished to be buried here while the building of the chapel was still under way. This in mind, the architect fixed a special place in the altar for the Queen's heart.
