Photographer's Note

The Tsarevets Fortress in Veliko Tarnovo, Bulgaria at blue hour. It dates back to the 8th and 10 centuries but was destroyed by the Turks in 1393. With the help of Russian archaeologists it was reconstructed in the late 20th century. More information here.

Hello Chris,
If I don't mix things up I took some nice photos from the top of that tower. Then the man handling the lift insisted of taking photos of me. I really like the light on top of the dark hill, with further lights illuminating the ancient wall by the road. You captured a fine blue hour atmosphere.

Bonsoir Chris,

La distance entre la rue et la forteresse donne de la profondeur à la scène. La prise de vue permet de voir certains détails des maisons et de la forteresse. L'intensité de la lumière de l'heure permet de faire ressortir cetaines couleurs. Bonne soirée.

The beautiful illuminated old walls in great focal and contrast over the middle of the pic. space, Chris, a par-excellence blue hour shot.
The authrities cared for precise light over monuments, as I see the flag on left, the towerr onfar side and each tower of the wall has direct torch upon.
Marvelous sight, well shown on photo.

Beautiful chain if yellow light meandering over the scene. The fortress above pointing to the deep blue evening sky. And then the empty street below to show us real life in the image.

A finely judged blue hour composition. Well exposed with good colours and clarity. The streaks offered by the traffic lights offer further interest and provide a counterpoint to the floodlit castle.
