Photographer's Note
Rovinj is a small town with just over 14,000 inhabitants and traditional fishing village atmosphere. Even visiting the city in high season, there are not too many tourists, except several groups of Italians (which should be at home throughout Istria, which is much talk your language). It is a city with many individual attractions, but its old town, of medieval appearance, is a monument in itself. Spending 2 to 3 hours to stroll, we can assume the most basic business done.
The area of the old town (Stari Grad) extends from Ulica Carera to the Basilica of Santa Eufemia, on top of the small hill is the old town (which at the time had to be the island where the population settled) . From the busy pedestrian area of Ulica Carera, where restaurants and souvenir shops abound, we can come to some very flirty squares like Piazza Matteotti, Piazza del Ponte and Piazza Grande. For any of the streets that enter into the old town we can start the climb to the Basilica of St. Euphemia (Crkva Sv. Eufemije).
I think the best from that time is let go. There are many lovely nooks, streets, small shops with crafts or small art galleries that can attract our attention. After browsing you will reach the area of the Basilica of Santa Eufemia. Most notable in this Baroque church, built in 1736, is the 60m high tower, which mimics the Campanile of San Marco in Venice. You can freely raise (something we did not know then and did not), but apparently the rickety wooden stairs are not suitable for everyone. Inside (free), there is a sarcophagus with the relics of St. Euphemia and Gothic paintings, but overall is not the most beautiful churches we've seen much less. Best to get there actually are fantastic views over the Adriatic and the nearby islets. A pleasure to behold.

Hola Luis,
The colors of the merchandise on display at the store entrance gave extra vivid tones to the narrow alley.
A fine view uphill's the stairs, immaculate depth and clarity as always.
A photojob well done.

Bonjour Luis,

Hello Luis,
Such a lovely view up the stairs of this nice and narrow street. The colours in this fine sunlight are most appealing, especially the ones added by the merchandise on the right hand side.

Hello Luis,
I was in Rovinj a few years ago, towards the end of the season, but my experience was different from yours. Even in September I found it extremely touristic, packed with souvenir shops and very little intended for the locals. It was still one of the prettiest towns I have seen, with a magnificent location, and you have captured the colourful atmosphere of this narrow lane very well.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Luis
You know I've been enjoying your shots from Croatia, guess I'll need to book a ticket here soon haha
we get a good sense of some of those little nooks and small streets you mentioned in your note.
and sure, it may be a little touristy, but as a tourist we kind of like that as well.
hard to photograph this one with the harsh strong lighting conditions and shadows, but the overall final result is excellent.
well done with the conditions given to you
cheers

Hi Luis
Cute old buildings which makes me feel like I've had a chance to look at real life and experience of local atmosphere. An appealing sight suits your portrait format and lovely how the vivid colours steal the show as strong focus point leading the eye thru' the narrow alleyway. That bit of contrasting blue sky helps as a stopper containing views within the frame so effectively. Great detail, crispness and excellent brightness control. Nice take. Congrats
Best regards
