Very good composition and humorous subject matter. I've seen many many partial B&W photos, but this is one of the few effective ones I've seen. So what's he doing with the bike? Let's see...

He's holding it for somebody
He uses the bike to hold the groceries he's going to buy
You can still ride a bike using only one leg, can't you?
