Photographer's Note
Twenty kilometres west of Split in Croatia, Trogir is one of the most seductive towns on the Dalmatian coast, its old-town cluster of palaces, belfries and cobbled alleys fanning out from an antique central square. Founded by Greeks from Vis in the third century BC, Trogir can compare with any of the towns on the coast in terms of historic sights, and its cathedral is one of the finest in the Adriatic.
It’s fronted by a wide seaside promenade lined with bars and cafes, and yachts in the summer. Trogir is unique among Dalmatian towns for its profuse collection of Romanesque and Renaissance architecture (which flourished under Venetian rule); this, along with its magnificent cathedral, earned it World Heritage status in 1997.
The natural protection and spaciousness of the harbor, the favorable accommodation on the small island between the land and the island of Čiovo, and the fair climate were the main reasons for establishing the town.

Namaste Angshuman. This is a total surprise as i had no idea that you had been to Croatia. I hope you had a good time. Maybe you were the first Indian to visit the country. anyway, you probably saw more of Dalmatia than me, even though I was born there. Nice colours on the stones of various ages and enchanting textures. Regards. Klaudio.

Bonjour Angshuman,
Quel beau point de vue sur Trogir et à ses berges. J'aime bien la rouille sur les bateaux et qui donne de belles textures, aussi belles que celle de la pierres des habitations.
Amicalement

Hello Angshuman,
This town is just a name to me, and I really didn't know anything about it. This view is amazing. From this distance it seems like every building has remained unchanged since medieval days. The architecture is fantastic and the photo has excellent colours. Especially i like the contrasts between the almost green water and the rusty, brownish buildings.
Kind regards,
Gert

Hi Angshuman,
The diagonal line of the pier is giving depth to the composition. The point of view is showing the details of the boats and of the buildings. The good luminosity is making the colours to stand out. Have a nice day.

Hi Angshu,
it does look beautiful indeed. The architecture seems a bit different from typical Croatian coastal towns I would say -although I have never been there...
It does work very encouraging to visit this town while traveling along the coast.
I like your processing here which enhanced very well the details and got them out of the shade.
Excellent work,
M

Dear Dada,
Good image. Very sharp and crystal clear. Contrast and sharpness is excellent. Nice view of the beach with good architecture in the background. It reminds me like Banaras Ghaats but this is a bit different seeking clearity and cleanliness of the area.

Hello Anshuman
It looks like a smaller version of Split. Good overview of the this attractive waterfront town with the tower providing a nice focal point and the red roofs contrasting well with the blue sea and sky. Excellent sharpness throughout. Tfs!

Hello Angshu,
I am impressed by the colours in your picture and like them very much, the light and your contrast management have given them substance and depth, the areas they define are distinct and make great impact. Details and textures are particularly sharp, the setting looks hostoric and very interesting. I also like how your composition emphasizes the strong bond of all the elements seen in this view. Congratulations and thank you!
All the best, have a great weekend,
Ourania

Dear Angshuman
What a beautiful view of Trogir and its banks. I like rust on boats and giving beautiful textures, as beautiful as that of the dwellings of stone.

How could I miss this picture? I have read your letter to Klaudio and see you have visited so many places in croatia.! Why you do not show them here? lack of time? Anyway, splendid composition from Trogir, old houses and old boats. Nice colours, stunning sharpness.
I was in trogir but it was almost fifty years ago, no photos and also memory a bit faded.
