Photographer's Note

Vinogradišće is on the 5th island in the archipelago of 8 islands directly offshore from Hvar Town. They are the Pakleni Islands. From Lonely Planet:

"Most visitors to Hvar Town visit the crystal-clear waters, hidden beaches and deserted lagoons of the Pakleni Islands (Pakleni / Paklinski otoci), a gorgeous chain of wooded isles that stretches out immediately in front of the town. Although the name is often translated as ‘Hell’s Islands’, it's thought to derive from paklina, a pine resin that was once harvested here to waterproof boats."

The boat is well placed in the photo, and those persons behind it must have felt themselves well placed in the fresh water on a hot day. I would have liked to join them, even though the turquoise tones of the water probably look the best from here.

Hello Chris,

This is a fine photograph, revealing excellent depths in the colours as well as a fine composition.
The boat is very strongly positioned, whilst the surrounding border of trees and wall keep the attention firmly on the action in the blue/green water.

Bonjour Chris,

L'étendue de la baie donne d ela profondeur à la composition. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails des bateaux et des maisons. J'apprécie les différentes teintes de couleurs de l'eau. Bonne journée.

Great feeling of a hot summer day. These are so welcome in dark days of November. That little boat is a good focal point. The beach is small and not too crowded.

Hello Chris,
Such a beautiful view of the calm and crystal clear water surrounded by the old wall at right and the trees on the other side. The people swimming there on that glorious day are well included, just as that blue and yellow boat in the foreground.

Wonderful to see the water of the Adriatic changing from transparent to turquoise.
The beach seems to be very popular but the small boat may perhaps take you to a quieter spot.
