Photographer's Note

At last, an internet connection and a few minutes to upload a shot. I have some replies to make to some of my TE friends but that may have to wait another day or two. I had a few sunny days in Prague en route to Ostrava and then Krakow, where I am now watching the pathetically weak wireless connection in the hotel fade in and out. Prague didn't seem to me to have changed that much since I last visited 12 years ago, but I was surprised at the truly massive crowds in front of the famous astronomical clock in the main square each hour. Heaven knows what it will be like in mid-July.

I haven't even looked to see how many photos of this wonderful bridge, teeming with people on this very warm day, can be found on TE. This one was taken on the west (or castle) side of the Vlatava River, on the north side of the bridge, just behind the new (and marvellous) Franz Kafka museum. I found it nearly impossible to find a few seconds without a tour or cruise boat passing under the bridge.
