Photographer's Note

Well, winter is finally over in our part of the world. Here's a little reminder of colder days. Temperature around -30C, taken a few minutes after sunrise. Shooting at temperatures this low is quite demanding on the gear. One fully loaded battery lasted for about one and half hours, which is pretty much the longest time we were able or willing to stay outdoors that day.

what a jewel this place is.. great photo with stunning clarity, perfect soft colors and light management.. i found myself wanting to walk on that snow road.. congrats and tfs,

Hello Jarmo,

This is a beautiful snow scene - quite magical! But it looks quite scary to me too - would it not be very easy to slip off the path and over a cliff on the left? How safe is it?

You have composed this picture beautifully, the walker perfectly placed in the frame and with a lovely soft mist in the distance beyond the trees. What I really love, though, is that beautiful warm light penetrating the trees above the person - it lights up the snow-covered branches of the trees beautifully.

This picture really is stunning but, again, it would look even better if it were bigger than just 425 x 608 pixels!
