Photographer's Note
After the 7:30 mass at Notre Dame, I walk around taking photos. I never have enough photos of Notre Dame...
There is a series of polychrome relief sculptures on the south side of the choir and after taking photos of several of these, I realized that I was in a forbidden area, and I suddenly saw this pattern...looking out toward the nave past the guard rail.
A moment after I took the photo, a guard came along and asked me to move. But I already had my photo...

Hello Sara,
It's a great image of the interior of this forbidden area. The circular shadow on the square pattern is very intriguing. The photograph is very atmospheric. Open gate is inviting us further into the space. TFS Sara
Very best regards,

Hello Sara - Well spotted and well snapped! The curved shadows on the squares are fascinating and you have done very well with this shot. I see you used quite a slow shutter speed, was it hand held? The shot is quite sharp, you must have steady hands! Warm regards Rosemary

Hi Sara,
I can see what caught your eye here. The nice light and the play of shadows. Definitely worth a click!
Philippe
PS: A suggestion of a different crop in the WS...

Hi Sara,
You've got a superb play of shadows and geometric figures. Good use of light to capture this moment and some superb colors, very elegant. A great idea with great execution!

Sara
Excellent use of light to create a super graphic shot. The shadow of the wrought iron gate on the tiled floor is very effective. I suspect this would have worked well in B&W too.

Hello Sara,
nice shot with the light and the shadows to be spread on the floor perfectly.I like the capture of this difficult shot with the light and the colour management to be superb.

Hello Sara
Nice...shadows always make a good photographic subject. I might be tempted to crop the top part by a cm to the top horizontal line of the metal 'fence' ...then I saw Philippe beat me to it with a WS already. Would look good in B&W as well, in my humble opinion
With Regards

Hi Sara
It's great not to take postcards pictures even when we travel abroad. This close-up reveals the good photographic eye, and also skilfull: sharpness thogh taken at 1/4 s without a tripod.
Good match of the different shapes.
Congratulations

Hi Sara
I'm chuckling at this shot, as it seems you've channelled a little of Nobu here yourself :) I love the dominant duotones and of course that wonderful ornate ornate ironwork and the shadows they make. Great shot, very original and very attractive.

Hi Sara,
This is a wondeful shot - with a nice little story attached to it. So often it is the details in a famous site that give us the original photo. Great work, thank you, Iain
