Photographer's Note
A little change from the scallops and markets of Paris, the Paris Gay pride 2005! I met many good TE friends there and we all had a blast! I created a new theme for them to gather all those shots too. please, go check it out!
So The Gay pride is originally about the pride of being gay. it originated in NYC after a police intrusion into a gay club called the stonewalls on Christopher street on June 27th 1969 and with the years, it has become a major public event worldwide. but it is also now a place to meet fun people, enjoy the music and enhance the acceptation of the differences.
Would that be the beginning of a world where everybody would be accepted whatever his/her race, skin color, sexual orientation or ideas?...

Salut Eric.
T'étais aussi déguisé toi ? :)))

Chér Eric with your note I think I´m gonna cry of emotion... snif, snif... What´s up? How is it going? I like his/her expression of surprise, I like the absolute freedom that comes out of this photo: I hate people that are always absolutey right, I love open minded people. I hope to enjoy with your photos of Paris´ parade until you show us the one of Madrid. Really, really looking forward to meet you (today more than yesterday but less than tomorroW).

Eric, This is a well framed contribution, i see you guys had a lot of fun. So, who was there from TE? Simon wrote he did not even see Vero. Give us an idea who met who, thanks.
I hope i am with you all next year, as i don't expect too many SF PRIDE (the bigggggest) contributions from TE USA. and the more, the merrier, just as gays know and do.
Parade in SF starts with : dykes on bikes! Check the News for "crazy photographer run down by dykes"....:-)

Superbe portrait Eric.

Magnificent image! I really love the work in the contrasts in this one. The somber light allowed capturing perfect tones and a great definition in the details. Besides the strong expression in the character at the right, I must confess I really enjoy the face of the other one at the back. His subtle look, reinforced by the strong red around the eyes is magnetic.
Quite a different sight and event from the one I’ve witnessed in Lisbon.

great picture Eric..
this is timeless for me..and I have to repeat I love your relation with photography..your centered portraits, your ideas reflected in them (not much concerned with what others are interested in) is what I admire..
thanks..for the great picture and notes..
(this picture is full of triangles..very graphic in a very ungraphic looking pic..excellant)

nice street potrait Eric, interesting characters. the expression of the main character is very rebalious, I prefer the expresssion of that 'nun' in the background - very peaceful. nice photo from that controversial event ;)

Ca me parait bien excessif tout çà.

Very nice Eric :) I love how the pride parade has so many international similarities and yet still has a diff flavour everywhere. These guys, for example, are cool in their difference to their TO brothers. Well composed with a foreground and background subject, and great DoF.
Cheers!

wow!!
this is a really cool photograph eric..
you've captured a real sense of motion.. somewhat comparable to that in this
photograph... perhaps because in both the subjects seem to be moving forward towards the camera...
take care :)

Well Well, though one Eric.
IMO this is THE gay parade photo of the year, at least as a portrait style! it has everything to be a winner, superb technical achievement, colors, compo and mood, the facial expressions are just amazing.
This is also a controversial photo, because IMHO it shows the best and the worst of "some" (SOME) gay and lesbian atittudes... anyone is free to love anyone, man or woman, but what i feel about some gay and lesbian groups is the need they have in showing themselfs in a diferent way... in an almost provocative way. This is a parade but isnt's so in real life?
Not against gays or lesbians, i even know some personally but imo they could be more discrete... my friend sure are... beeing discrete don't mean hidding themselfs... just beeing "normal" regular citizies.

How a wide angle can change your approach to portraits : very nicely made and super dynamic, you clicked at the very right moment!
What distinguishes an excellent photo to a simply technically succesful shot is how you will manage with details and background : I must praise the way you included the second character on the left and the way he looks bounces back to the main character.

Salut Eric

Hi Eric,
this is a great picture, you really caught the moment.
But you didn't mentioned the acceptation of diffrent or non religious belief... and according to this image, no doubt why.
Good compo, and note also.
Cheers,
Marcie

Excellent framing. Well, this is a very good shot with such beautiful colors. And you're using a 12-24 lens. I just got it. And it does look good for portrait.
I hope you're doin fine friend. I will be in Scandinavia on Saturday.

Visited your gallery after quite a while to realise you have updated it with some really nice pics lately. This one of course is the most striking of your recent posts for me. Good timing and a great expression frozen. Nicely done!
How's the 12-24mm in your opinion? Am in two minds about getting this piece of glass.
