La Défense, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

La Défense is the prime high-rise office district of Paris. Many of Paris's tallest buildings can be found here.
For making this picture I searched quit a long time before I discovered this special point of view.
This is a scanned image of a color slide I made in the late nineties.

Great architectural shot, with beautiful colors and reflections. I like the POV you chose. La Défense is not the most beautiful district in Paris, but your shot really makes it look inviting. The lamp post in the foreground might bother some TE members, but I think it works and does not detract from the image. Memorable shot.

Hi Eddie,
This is a great photo capturing the spirit of La Defense, with all of the different shapes of buildings reflecting off of each other. I like that the colours are all similar and almost monochromatic; it makes the scene look clean and "futuristic". I understand the lightpost, but I think the photo would have been just as good without it.

Really like this photo - wonderful dramatic curves and geometric lines. I was surprised to read it was a scanned image - I think you did it very well and got a fabulous end result.

Although I quite like the blue cast, I do think that it is a bit too blue. And I also think it would benefit from a slight crop on the left hand side. I did a quickie workshop to show you what I mean.

excellent POV! Excellent observing and searching and finally rewarded with such a magnificent shot. Framing using buildings is fantastic, so are reflections of buildings mirroring each other. So many curves, so many directions but one united compositional balance with an accent of street lamp. Fantastic shot! My compliments.

Hi Eddie,

An interesting picture, with a strong blue motif. There are cicles and curves, straight lines and rectangles. What I like best is the reflection of the sunlit building on the unlit portion of the building, and the reflections of the reflections, as well as the sweeping curve of the building.

This is one of the best - if not the best - photos of this type I've seen. Well seen.
I like the those two curves on the left and bluish tones throughout the scene.

Je galerij bevat vele prachtige Spaanse en Portugese natuurlandschappen. Met deze Parijse cityscape toon je ons toch een heel bijzondere en mooie foto.
De compositie, de POV en de blauwe kleuren maken het heel speciaal. Prachtig werk !

Salut Eddie,

Travaillant dans le graphisme, c'est cette image qui m'a interpellé dans ta galerie.
Ce mélange de courbes, d'éléments verticaux et de teinte bleue me fait penser à une vague urbaine.
La qualité du cadrage est des détails est au rendez-vous.

Point non négligeable non plus, photo réalisée en argentique et qui ne bénéficiait pas de toutes les facilités offertes par le numérique.
