Photographer's Note
It was almost torn down in 1909, but was saved because of its antenna - used for telegraphy at that time. Beginning in 1910 it became part of the International Time Service. French radio (since 1918), and French television (since 1957) have also made use of its stature.
During its lifetime, the Eiffel Tower has also witnessed a few strange scenes, including being scaled by a mountaineer in 1954, and parachuted off of in 1984 by two Englishmen. In 1923 a journalist rode a bicycle down from the first level. Some accounts say he rode down the stairs, other accounts suggest the exterior of one of the tower's four legs which slope outward.
However, if its birth was difficult, it is now completely accepted and must be listed as one of the symbols of Paris itself.

Hello Assi,
This is such a different image reflecting the Eiffel tower which has been photographed so many times, from so many angles, that it is very difficult to capture something unique. You've done exactly that....the composition of the dominating statue and the partial view of the tower has worked extremely well. It's dramatic, arty and very effective. Very well done.
Cheers Grant

Hi Assi
I'm really impressed with this composition. The Eiffel Tower is the subject although it seems not to be the subject in this photo. The flash was used nicely to illuminate the statue while the details and shades in the sky were not lost.
Thanks for posting.

hello Assi,
I like a lot your creative approach to this much-photographed landmark, the dramatic sky works very well to emphasise what you write in your note about the difficulties of the Tower. smart composition, placing the statue in the foreground and facing the tower creates an interesting interaction. excellent photo, I like it a lot.

Kristine

Hi Assi,
A quite unusual shot of the iron lady. The POV here is very original, and even the most important, it is not seen. A really good job. TFS
