Blue Defense 2, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

I continue my small blue walk in La Défense...
The tower Alicante, one of both Twin Towers of the Société générale inLa Défense. Her partner, more in the East is called the Tower Chassagne.
The tower Alicante wears this name because of the red marble which results from this region of Spain and which decorates the inside. The tower Chassagne, her twin, is decorated with stone white from Chassagne (village of Burgondy, known also for its wine: Chassagne Montrachet).
Separated both by 40 metres, them are a part of rare towers of La Défense to have no flat summit. Although their height is not enormous (167m that is 1/3 of the towers Petronas of Kuala Lumpur) they appear among the Twin Towers the most made a success in the world. Michel Andrault, Pierre Parat are the architects. Towers are ended since 1995.
With 125 000 m2 and 5400 employees, they are not however self-important for the head office of the Société Générale which is going to get bigger with the tower Granite at present under construction (see the photo published previously).

Mais tu as dû te rompre le cou pour une telle contre-plongée ?!
Très graphique. Une composition très réussie, avec une bonne netteté.
Très bel encadrement.
Ah et merci pour la note très intéressante (tu transmettras à Olivier ;o). Je ne connaissais rien de ces tours.

J'aime cette photo qui est plus differentes que les autres que tu as postees ici.Le cadre va tres bien avec le plan choisi par toi.
Mais, par contre, je prefere Paris de la Place de la Concorde, des Champs Elysees, et tout ce qu'a la connection avec le parfum de l'histoire.

Connaissant la difficulté de saisir ces tours de La Défense j'apprécie d'autant plus la qualité de cette photo.
Et ce camayeux de bleus de la photo et de l'encadrement est du vrai travail d'artiste

i like this perspective and the POV of the tower Alicante,to penetrate the whole scene from one edge to the other.I like the sharpness and the colours of your shot.Société Générale bought off a Greek bank in which worked my wife. Now she's employee of this big multinational company.Informative your note too.

c'est une bonne photo d'architecture, avec un cadrage de ceux qui me plaisent et que j'utilise aussi sur mes photos d'édifices comme celui que tu nous montres ici.
L'inclination du cadre, le plan contre-plongé qui crée une bonne perspective et une fuite splendide de lignes, et le graphisme des éléments architectoniques, ils ont un bel effet esthétique et forment une composition très belle, très dynamique et élégante.

Bonsoir Diane,
Une superbe image, où tu as pris soin de construire une composition très élaborée. Un plan serré de cette tour en contre plongée avec le déoart de l'angle calé juste dans le coin inférieur de l'image accentue encore l'impression de gigantisme de l'ouvrage. Les tonalités de bleu sont magnifiques.

Once again the blue theme works well here. Perhaps I might have placed the building a bit further to the right but leaving some space there works well too.

En tous les cas je préfère de loin ce cadrage, il est superbement réalisé en contre-plongée et en diagonale. C'est très bien vu!
Je te souhaite un bon dimanche (malheureusement pas en Bretagne pour profiter du vent ce WE... :-(
