Photographer's Note
Last year, I posted pictures taken during the procession of Holy Thursday in the chapel of Santa Croce, Corte. In Corsica, the Easter festivities begin the evening of Holy Thursday with a procession that recalls the pain of Mary at the death of his son. It's called "the procession of men" because the brothers were carrying the statue of Mary behind the crucifix, religious and women do not participate. They make several times the "Granitola. This is the cycle of life represented by a closed spiral that by cutting open.
Corte is the only town in Corsica, where Christ is watched by women as a deceased U Sepolcru.
On Friday, the entire population through the town of Corte behind the Brotherhood. A penitent, barefoot and wearing a hood for anonymity, bear the heavy cross. The journey of Jesus into Jerusalem and is repeated every Friday.
The day before Easter, we watch. At midnight, a big fire is lit to celebrate the resurrection of Christ. The tradition of gunfire still persist but is going against the law because it is forbidden because of danger.

Bonjour Marie
