Mystery and oriental charm, Sommières

One view. Without veil.
Other view. Context.

milongueros and tangueros, share the emotion and the dance of the Argentine tango, but also the temporary emotion of an oriental dance, in a former mill fitted out there milonga, place of dance, in a very warm way.

Photos in difficult conditions for my almost old-fashioned camera.

Musical genre and social dance, the argentine tango is a passion. The argentine tango is to be distinguished of the ballroom tango.

Social dance, the argentine tango is a single relation between the dancers couples and the music, a short and intense relation of dancers couple, the time of a tenda. Everyone perceives passion nature and the erotism of the argentinian tango, but one perceives less his violent side, relative.

If one is sensitive to the bewitchment of this music, the grace and the aestheticism of the dancers, the charm of elegance and the codes, with the seduction of the leg movements, the fascination of the technique of this dance, one cannot come out unscathed from such a relation with this world. The virus of the tango is contagious and tough.

The argentine tango for ballroom is more sober and is reserved more than the tango of spectacle, but it can be quite as beautiful and captivating, on a beautiful music, single and always nostalgic.
The argentine tango is a virus which does not release you any more since it penetrated you. Young people, and less young, impassion themselves for the argentinian tango and instigate it in particular in France where it develops and especially in the south.

A “milonga” is the place where the argentinian tango is danced. The milonga is also a dance, former to the argentinian tango.
The musical programming is done by alternating the “tendas”, of the series of 3 or 4 argentine tangos, or argentinian vals, or milongas, which is the three rhythms of the argentine tango in the broad sense. The tendas are separated by a short musical, not danced sequence, different from the tango, the cortina. During the cortina, the dance floor empties, the partners part, the dancers and the dancers look around for the next tenda. Secrets and codes of the argentine milongas.

The tango was defined like “a sad thought which is danced”. (Ernest Sabato, Argentinian writer of Italian and Albanian origin born in Rojas, in the province of Buenos Aires on June 24th, 1911.)
The tango is a social dance, of more or less clear origin, popular and coming from dregs, danced at the origin in Argentina and Uruguay which exists now in various forms, for ballrooms and codified, or adapted to various cultures. The tango is a culture.
The argentine tango is regarded as the authentic tango.

UNESCO, United Nations Organization for Education, Science and the Culture, registered the tango on the list representative of the immaterial cultural heritage of humanity, UNESCO Press Release nº 2009- 105 01-10-2009 .
"It is practised in the traditional dance halls of Buenos Aires and Montevideo, spreading the spirit of its community across the globe even as it adapts to new environments and changing times."

“El Tango es… el Tango”, the tango is… the tango.
“El Tango es una Historia”, the tango is a history.
