Photographer's Note
Aix holds regular and frequent markets in the squares and streets of the 'vieille ville' mainly of local produce which includes some squares packed with stalls selling flowers in profusion. When the market is closing down teams of men and vehicles from the local council arrive and proceed to remove very speedily the detritus of the market. Boxes and cartons are collected prior to dumping in the crusher of the rubbish truck and a man with a high power hose appears and swills away all the smaller droppings. Then the bars and restaurants can reclaim and occupy their normal spaces with tables and chairs.
My eye was caught by the reflections and patterns in the water film overlying the paving and a puzzled looking pigeon fluttered down seeking the rich pickings that had been there just now.
Some cropping of foreground, adjustment of levels, resize and sharpen in PSE3.

Beau coup d'oeil, ces reflets sont superbes et en plus il y a un pigeon pour donner un peu de vie à cette vue.
