Aiguille & Porte d 'Aval, a photo from Haute-Normandie, North

Photographer's Note

Étretat is best known for its cliffs, including three natural arches and the pointed "needle". These cliffs and the associated resort beach attracted artists including Eugène Boudina, Gustave Courbet and Claude Monet.

Two of the three famous arches seen from the town are the Porte d'Aval, and the Porte d'Amont. At this photo you see the Aiguille & Porte d'Aval. Claude Monet have made many paintings of this.
The Manneporte is the third and the biggest arch one which cannot be seen from the town.

Perfect frame and excellent sharpness!
The colors are original without aid and that satisfies me immensely! The shape of the rocks is also amazing!

Hello Kik,
This is a breathtaking view and the colours are well saturated. The rocky formation to the right looks to me very much like an elephant drinking water while hiding behind the square rock. I am not sure of the other one, maybe a giant seashell. A good picture anyway, and the tiny boats are fine details.Regards,

L'aiguille de la porte d'aval est bien connue et souvent photographiée.
Cette photo est excellente de simplicité et de vérité avec une mer d'huile bleue qui dispense de cadrer un bout de ciel sans doute à l'unisson.

Mooie foto. Verdeling en belichting zien er goed
uit. De verticale positie zorgt voor extra
diepte in de foto. Ook aangenaam is dat je geen
horiozon in beeld hebt, zo benadruk je extra de
rotsen en komt de foto extra aangenaam rustig
over.

Beautiful post card like image. A very popular and famous destination, I wish to see it myself one day. Excellent close up POV of the rock and the elephant trunk reaching out to the rock. the sail boat in the background give great sense of scale. Beautiful deep blue of the sea provide wonderful contrast to the white cliff.

le tue fotografie sono tutte di ottimo livello e si distinguono in mnaiera particolare per l'eleganza della composizione.
Non fa eccezione questa, che ho scelto tra le tante perchè la bicromia tra bianco e azzurro è perfetta per l'alternarsi dei due colori, ma il tutto avviene anche con un perfetto bilanciamento delle forme.
