It's a pleasure to be among the first to view this gorgeous shot, the silhouette of a cluster of bare trees and their shadows. It is a minimalist composition that deserves to become a classic at TE.

Bonjour Jean,

I can seee that you are attracted by shadows and this is a particularly good example. It is almost minimalistic in its subject but very high on impact. Although a colour shot, it is, in fact, monochrome.
A shot which mimics reflections but with a much more ghostly effect.

Bonjour Jean,

L'utilisation de la lumière et des ombres est une bonne idée. La prise de vue permet de voir les détails et les couleurs des arbres et des ombres. La lumière du contre-jour ne nuit pas au rendu des couleurs. Bonne journée.

Bonjour Jean,

L'ombre et le sujet sont proportionnellement identique, ce qui rend l'image encore plus particulière. La blancheur de la neige et le contre-jour ont bien servi l'idée de la composition.

Bonne idée de composition, simple, poétique et parfaitement exécutée. Souvent, dans ce cas-là, on regrette, après coup, ses propres traces de pas dans la neige... Erreur que tu as évitée !

The shadow made perfect reflection.. close to a BW photo but it's not.

Jean, a perfectly cropped and composed shot. The trees against the snow are really beautiful, and the soft shadow lends an unusual air to the shot. Wonderful sharpness and detail. I love this photo.

Hi Jean,

You're capturing well this scene by a good composition and excellent tone/clarity, so it's impressive to see the tree's shadow projected to the ground with the snow. It's an artistic touch. It's intereting in the color contrast between thin brown on ground and dark gray of shadow. So, you catched this effectively a good time of sunlight's height, I think.

Très jolie composition faite à la fois de simplicité, de beauté et de poésie. J'aime beaucoup la façon dont les arbres se démarquent sur la neige dans un agréable jeu d'ombre et de lumière. Le cadrage est soigné et la texture de la neige est bien rendue grâce à une bonne maîtrise de la lumière. C'est très beau.

I like the stark contrast between the sharply defined upper tree and its soft almost impressionist reflection. Good symmetry and a superb exposure on the high highlights of the snow with negligible oe. Merci pour ce partage!

Bien vu ces trois arbres isolés et leur ombre portée. Dommage qu'une trace de skieurs perturbe la symétrie tout en haut de l'image, mais ça, tu ne peux pas y faire grand chose.
