Photographer's Note

Salmière the source is in the Quercy Causse Gramat about one kilometer north of Alvignac the territory of the municipality of Miers, southeast of Lake Source.

Buildings and facilities occupy the valley floor at 288 meters.

The stream of cazelles separates the two towns this place.

The neighboring localities are: Sole (Alvignac) and Baule (Miers).

In 1911 the spa was opened and flourished at the beginning of the last century, many postcards emphasized the nature of eaux9 laxative.

The site closed in 1981.

In 1998 the two towns of Miers and Alvignac effectuèrent and reopened the site of major rehabilitation of all facilities, parks, mini-golf and restaurant.

Any activity is stopped again in 2005, but SIVU Miers-Alvignac works to restart and maintain the site since 2012

I like this kind of abandoned places, I think offer a series of pictures soon.

This place has certainly had a chequered history. Good sharpness and shadow detail and well framed and composed. The minimalist color enhances the graphism & the almost n&b (b&w) look of the fg structure. Excellent balanced composition and perspective. The graffiti adds interest and mood. Tfs!

Hello Olivier. An interesting photo with an equally interesting text. These relics of the past tell a story. Also architecturally the building is worth seeing. For me, the photo has a documentary character.

yes, I like these type of abandoned subjects very much as well. They offer alot, and are often over looked.

I really like how the ceiling has that triangle with the circles at the top, and the overall composition is spot on, just perfect.
it fills up the frame nicely.
