Photographer's Note

Rosheim is a small population , little visited by tourists, Rosheim is however well known for its beautiful Romanesque church of San Pedro and San Pablo , and one of the oldest buildings in Alsace.
The recently restored houses have very beautiful places and retains four doors remains of ancient walls .

The first document mentioning Rosheim is an act of sale of an abbey in 778 . However, many traces of human presence attest occupation since Neolithic times.

In 1132, the city was destroyed by fire and was rebuilt . It is in this period that the construction of the city masterpiece is done , the church of St. Peter and St. Paul
.
In the thirteenth century , Rosheim belongs to the family of Hohenstaufen and gets city status . Later in 1354, the city is part of the Decapolis , which is an alliance of ten cities of Alsace.

The city is thriving in the fourteenth and fifteenth century, although the occupation of the city during the 100 years war in 1444 and rebellion of peasants , I mean a setback.

In 1679 , the city passed to France , along with other cities of the Decapolis .
The city has a strong development in the nineteenth century.

Rosheim es una pequeña poblacion, poco visitada por los turistas, Rosheim es sin embargo bien conocida por su hermosa iglesia románica de San Pedro y San Pablo , y una de las construcciones mas antiguas de Alsacia.
Las casas recientemente restauradas presentan rincones muy hermosos y conserva 4 puertas restos de las antiguas murallas.

El primer documento que menciona Rosheim es un acto de venta de una abadía en el año 778. Sin embargo, diversos vestigios de ocupación atestiguan la presencia humana desde el Neolítico.

En 1132, la ciudad fue destruida por un incendio y fue reconstruida. Es en este período que se realiza la construcción de la obra maestra de la ciudad, la iglesia de St. Peter y St. Paul.

En el siglo XIII, Rosheim pertenece a la familia de Hohenstaufen y obtiene el estatus de ciudad. Más tarde, en 1354, la ciudad es parte de la Decápolis , que es una alianza de diez ciudades de Alsacia.

La ciudad es próspera en el siglo XIV y XV, aunque la ocupación de la ciudad durante la guerra de 100 años en 1444 y rebelión de campesinos, significo un retroceso.

En 1679, la ciudad pasó a Francia, junto a otras ciudades de la Decápolis.
La ciudad tiene un fuerte desarrollo en el siglo XIX.

Very attractive and beautiful picture!
I miss a tiny bit more of sharpness, but I do enjoy the colors, the light, the chosen pov, the horizontal format and the composition!

this place almost doesn't look real!
looks like something out of a move set from Hollywood!
its so pristine and clean.
I wonder why its not popular with tourists because it looks as if if could/should be.

el tejadillo de la casa a la derecha es semejante aquellos que teníamos acá en mi ciudad en las casas de madera que los primeros moradores hicieron.ahora ya no más existen..
Hermosa esta vista con detalles tan preciosos de las fachadas y otros detalles urbanos. me gusta mucho. gracias por compartir esto lugar que no conocia.

Hi Luis,
Like in all these small towns in Alcase, the architecture have a certain Disneyland character. Of course they were here long before Disney and he must have been inspired by such towns. A very pleasant view indeed with many enjoyable details.

Typical small town scenery in Alsace, wooden-beams old houses well cared and decorated with flowers.
A WW2 horn on the lefdt side roof, a bit unusual to see.
Fine clear shot, well lit and good depth through the beautiful gate.

hai saputo trasferire molto bene il colore e l'atmosfera dell'Andalusia in questa bella cittadina dell'Alsazia.

A charming old town scene taken from central shooting point where focus is directed into the heart of picture- the imposing tower and the surrounding old style buildings. what a charming place you have captured in here! It looks like little town from one of the Disney cartoon :-) The architecture is so beautiful that it almost seems to be unreal. Very nicely caught in your lens as well. The POV is superb and I like the sharpness with which one can see also the small view through the gate. Good DOF, lovely colors and very well managed light.
