Auxerre in summer clothing, a photo from Bourgogne, Central

Photographer's Note

I took advantage of the beautiful morning light on August 1st to redo some pictures of the traditional view on the monuments Auxerre (cathedral and abbey) reflecting in the Yonne. Since the renovation of the docks at the end of last year, more than motorhomes at the water's edge and a nicely landscaped walk way to the delight of walkers, joggers and cyclists.

J'ai profité de la jolie lumière matinale du 1 Août pour refaire quelques images du point de vue traditionnel sur les monuments d'Auxerre se reflétant dans l'Yonne (cathédrale et abbaye). Depuis la rénovation des quais en fin d'année dernière, plus de campings-cars au bord de l'eau et un chemin de promenade bien aménagé qui fait la joie des promeneurs, joggeurs et cyclistes.

The early morning light is wonderful, as is the stillness of the water, in assisting this fine composition to become a stunning photograph. Your use of the gently curve adds to the serenity of the mood.

Bonne idée de supprimer les parkings , ç agache souvent les photos . même si c'est moins pratique pour les camping caristes !
La vue est magnifique , avec des reflets sublimes .

A beautiful view of the town, the cathedral and the marina. The quay makes a very attractive curve and the calm water reflects the cityscape perfectly. The colours and light are superb.

You have certainly made the very most of the wonderful morning weather on 1st August!

Like your last shot, this is stunningly beautiful photograph, so well composed, with glorious light and colours and exceptional details and sharpness. The reflections of the cathedral and abbey in the still waters of the Yonne are stunningly beautiful.

I really have to add this picture to my favourites!

A really stunning view of these beautiful buildings, you are lucky to have a view like this so close to home. The green strip of grass leads perfectly into the frame and makes the whole view really inviting, especially with the soft blue tones of the sky. What a stunning reflection too.

This is a great shot using the waterfront to lead the eye through the scene. The reflection is outstanding and provides depth and balance for the scene. The lighting is great yielding nice colors and detail.

Fantastic mirror like reflections on the water that add good symmetry to the composition. I like how the bulk tapers off from the left to the right in a rough triangular shape. Good color, saturation and sharpness. Tfs!

A delightful scene...a fine picture from Auxerre with the cathedral looming large in the FG and leading our eyes along the bank of Yonne to the BG...fine refelctions in the water as well, which adds interest.

Your homeland is delightful. Waking up to this every morning, would make me live forever! A stunning cityscape, breath-taking architectural details and of course the light on the water creating golden and silver reflections is the icing on the cake.
