When I considered going to Toulouse, I wanted to see first of all the church of St. Sernin. This tower is quite remarkable.
The Basilica of Saint-Sernin (Occitan: Basilica de Sant Sarnin) is a church in Toulouse, France, the former abbey church of the Abbey of Saint-Sernin or St Saturnin. Apart from the church, none of the abbey buildings remain. The current church is located on the site of a previous basilica of the 4th century which contained the body of Saint Saturnin or Sernin, the first bishop of Toulouse in c. 250. Constructed in the Romanesque style between about 1080 and 1120, with construction continuing thereafter, Saint-Sernin is the largest remaining Romanesque building in Europe, if not the world. The church is particularly noted for the quality and quantity of its Romanesque sculpture. In 1998 the basilica was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites under the description: World Heritage Sites of the Routes of Santiago de Compostela in France.

The bell tower, standing directly over the transept crossing, is the most visible feature. It is divided into five tiers, of which the lower three, with Romanesque arches, date from the 12th century and the upper two from the 14th century. The spire was added in the 15th century. The bell tower is slightly inclined towards the west direction, which is why from certain standpoints the bell tower roof, whose axis is perpendicular to the ground, appears to be inclined to the tower itself. I don't think there has been any decline in the high standard & interest of your photos. It's more a case of fewer and fewer people critiquing and more leaving the site each time there is a major technical crash. For what its worth, its happening to most of the regulars, including me. I certainly wont take it personally. A good upward pov on this fairytale tower. Tfs!

A spectacular and unusual church tower seen from a nice angle which also shows other parts of the church which are also attractive. You don't mention if you climbed the tower, but I am sure you did. The colours are very nice and the light clouds are pretty.

Beautiful and imposing architecture of this basilica, the details were captured with excellent sharpness, and the excellent light gives beautiful warm colors to the scene! I like these branches in the foreground framing the view of the tower and giving good depth to the composition. Wonderful job!

Hello Malgo,
The tall tower is wonderful, its many columns and high windows look good and the warm tones stand out from the blue sky and the small white clouds. The autumn leaves are well included in the upper left hand corner. Superb sharpness and clarity.
