Art at CDG, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

With these three, I am going to end my series on Charles de Gaulle Airport. This is one of the sculptures on either side of the caviar bar. One of the workshop photos shows the accompanying sculpture on the other side. The second entry in the WS simply shows a plastic Eiffel Tower at the entrance of one of the souvenir shops.

Bu üçle, Charles de Gaulle Havalimanı dizimi bitireceğim. Bu, havyar barının her iki tarafındaki heykellerden biridir. Atölye fotoğraflarından biri, diğer tarafta eşlik eden heykeli göstermektedir. Atölyedeki ikinci giriş, hediyelik eşya dükkanlarından birinin girişinde plastik bir Eyfel Kulesini sergiliyor.

Lavish interior for an airport, Murat, but it makes a traveler happier and enjoy the most usual tumulted places.

Hello Murat,
This corner looks nicer than the average parts of CDG as I remember them. Sometimes in a place like this it's hard to tell the difference between art and ads. The figure balancing on the wheel is probably intended to look beautiful - and does it quite well - but what about the painting to the right? Art or ad? The chairs and the tiles of the floor are quite nicely designed and almost qualify as art. The Eiffel Tower in WS#2 I would not regard as art. ;-)

Hello Murat,
Another great capture of Charles de Gaulle. The comfortable chairs and the work of art stand out so well from the Dior shop. This artwork looks so much better than that pink Eiffel Tower in the WS.

Hello Murat,

Looks like CDG needs to refresh their business management practices. Most people beginning or ending long flights have no interest in perfume, caviar or plastic souvenirs. The big majority of passengers want somewhere to have a coffee, meal and cigarette or cigar, or read quietly before they enter the "no smoking" zones and long queues. And souvenirs of France could be improved from plastic Eiffel Towers. Tfs!
