Photographer's Note

Soubran is a village and commune in South-West France in the département of Charente-Maritime.

In 2016 it had a population of 382. Unlike many French villages of a similar size it has managed to retain some local shops, notably a baker's, a butcher's, a post office, a bar/restaurant and a small grocery store. It also boasts a inevitable church, a mairie and a war memorial plus a school and a library.

The portrait orientation was definitely a must for this good photo of the church with its very tall steeple and good with the trees still bare.

J'ai tout de suite reconnu le style architectural de cet édifice religieux à travers cette jolie composition valorisant bien l'édifice. Je remarque que le clocher est en pierre (évitant les risques d'incendie).

A stunning photograph of the old church. The framing is perfect with the vivid blue and the green shades of the sky and the lawn and also the two trees. I liked a lot the shadow pattern cast by the tree on the right. Superb colours and sharpness.

The trees are framing well the church. The point of view is showing a double perpsective of the achitecture of the church of Notre-Dame of Assumption. The light is enhancing the beauty of the colours. Have a nice day.

I see you are one of the very productive TE members, every time I see several new photos in your gallery.
Sadly I cannot manage to be on TE as much as I would like to.

This is a beautiful capture of this charming church. I like the great clarity and sharpness and well saturated colors. I suppose the great weather contributed to it very much with the blue sky!
Great composition with pleasant resulting geometry.

this is exactly why we enjoy this wide angle lens, it shows its strength in this photo/scene. I wonder if the population has increased or decreased since 2016 - i'm sure everyone knows everyone else. Looks like a very large church in comparison to the town's small population. strong visual presentation of the church, its bold and demanding attention. cheers
