Photographer's Note
They are often in groups along the beach shores and move at full speed ... before flying away if you get too close.

Bonjour Jean,
Presque heurté un vol de pluviers.
Ce sont de beaux oiseaux avec l'anneau noir et blanc autour du cou et les lignes sur leurs ailes.
Amitiés, Paul

Hello Jean, Of course, when someone comes too close, all the birds fly away. When I approach the birds, I am taking the picture every a few meters, till I can. Lovely view of all these birds in flight. Charming composition.
Best regards Malgo

Bonjour, cher Jean,
Eh bien, j'avais tout faux, c'est bien l'envol généralisé des mouettes qui s'est réalisé.
L'image est belle et très réactive.
Amitiés.

Hello Jean,
This was the birds' most natural reaction to the approaching human. I had hoped for a surprise, but this swarm of seagulls is impressive enough. They provide a fascinating pattern against the background of blue and brown.

Hello Jean,
The birds were certainly spooked by the closeness of the walker and make a super action shot for you!
You have taken care to compose the photograph well, the sand, emerging from the corner, makes a good contrast with the two blue hues of sea and sky.
Have a good day,
Bev :-)

Hi Jean
Plovers over there seem to behave very differently to our plovers who live in family groups - no mobs like this lot. A good bird action photo.
cheers

Hi Jean,
This photo is sharp enough to see the details in all the birds. The exposure provides brightness without burning out the white parts. Good timing to get to get this effect, as if you are right in the middle of the flock of plovers.

Pozdrav.
Interesantan pogled i trenutak sa jatom ptica na plazi.
Dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Zelim vam lep dan, sve najbolje u novoj nedelji koja je pocela.

Jean, the plovers like these silty waters where they can find food. The freshwater coming from rivers or streams mixes with the saltwater, it creates a brackish environment. The flight of these small birds is well captured, the picture is neat. Fine colors, good sharpness, regards.

Hi Jean,
Great capture of the flock. I have recenlty had an encounter with a similar group of birds on the beach. I was approaching them slowly but at certain point they all took off. Sadly most of my photos were not sharp, may be I should have changed the setting to very fast speed. In your photo they are all perfectly sharp.
Excellent capture,
M

Hi Jean
A lovely afternoon scene by the beach and good to see so many in quite huge numbers certainly they know how to fill the frame! Well timed for the light & the birds but what chaos tho! Love the contrast to deep blue water.
Best regards
