Romantic view of Paris-2, a photo from Ile-de-France, North

Photographer's Note

J'ai mis du temps à retrouver Paris tel que je l'ai connu avant d'y vivre...par les photos et les fims...Paris mythique...Paris romantique...un peu...malgré la présence des voitures qui ne se fait oublier nulle part...et dire que pour retrouver cette vision de Paris il m'a fallu 17 ans...et il a suffit que je me mette à le photographier.

Et en réalité, Paris est-il une ville romantique ? Tout dépend...du point de vue !!! Et comme tout le monde le sait, en photographie, tous les points de vue sont permis.

I spent time to find Paris such as I knew it before living there… by the photographs and the films… mythical Paris… romantic Paris… a little… in spite of the presence of the cars which is not made nowhere forget… and to to find this vision of Paris I needed 17 years… and I just needed photograph it a little.

And actually, is Paris a romantic city? All depends… on the point of view!!! And as you know it very well, all points of view are possible in photography.

we have a beautiful building, a nice boat on the Seine, a view over the bridge that cross, but are they looking at all of this? No, they are starring at each others face. Love their expressions and if this not romantic what would it be then?

Je n'aime Paris qu'en images...la photo (ou le cinéma) met la capitale à l'abri du froid, du gris, de la puanteur et de l'agitation...Ta photo me fait presque venir une certaine nostalgie...Magnifique photo, le fond est splendide pour mettre en valeur ces deux jeunes gens. Ce regard, cette attitude relâchée (je parle de la charmante demoiselle bien sûr)...quelle merveille!

Ils sont ensembles, mais pas très proches au deumeurant, c'est étrange...
Je trouve que la partie de droite avec les voitures gâchent un peu la scène romantique. Mais bon, l'ambiance générale est très très bonne.

well I've always imagined Paris as a romantic place...and this proves me right ;) the sepia toning further enhaces the interaction between the two at the same time matching the old buildings by the river. sepia setting is great for this kinda romantic work I think. and you've got some nice light on her hair and back. also good details of surroundings too, especially that of the boat. well seen and taken!

Outre le côté romantique de la photo bien présent, j'apprécie beaucoup le traitement de l'image. Je ressens un très agréable relief entre ce couple et l'arrière plan qui ressemble à un décor. Une belle et agréable composition, bravo.

Très jolie photo, la tonalité se marie bien avec l'ambiance romantique ... tout y est, le bateau-mouche dans l'image typiquement parisienne du week-end en amoureux au bord de la Seine :))
Euh, ce n'est pas le Pont-Louis-Philippe, il est plus loin de la Conciergerie que ça ... je dirais plutôt le Pont d'Arcole mais je ne suis pas sûre. A vérifier ...

C'est superbe, bien observé, techniquement très bien réalisé avec une mention pour la lumière sur le nuage à gauche.

Gdzieś zniknęła nieśmiała, początkująca, tłumacząca się ze swych prac Autorka. I dobrze. Twój przykład błyskawicznego postępu jest niesamowity. Oglądam te prace z wielką satysfakcją, bo od razu się na Tobie poznałem. Już jak oceniałem wczesne zdjęcia, wiedziałem, że mam do czynienia z wielką nadzieją i przyszła gwiazdą TE. Nie spodziewałem się, że stanie się to tak szybko, ale tym większa jest moja satysfakcja.
A teraz co do zdjęcia: Oprócz uwag kolegów o kadrowaniu z prawej strony - same pozytywy. Jest kompozycja, sepia, nastrój, emocje. Tylko tak dalej! Masz we mnie mocnego fana.

C'est vrai qiue le titre que tu as choisi correspond parfaitment a cette photo. Le traitement sepia lui donne cet aspect vieillot qui ajoute a la touche romantique. Superbement compose. Bravo.

Hi Gradyna,
this is a very intruiging picture. If not posed it is a womnderful catch (and otherwise a good set up. The sepia works in a wonderful waty. In combination with the extra-ordinary sharpness it tears the back- and forground apart It is like a movie-scene out of the 40/50-ies but than modern.

Olá Grazyna, spectacular romantic atmosphere in beautiful sepia tones. I really feel like I'm looking to a movie scene and it reminds of that film called "Before Sunset", with Ethan Hawke & Julie Delpy. Excellent placement of the couple and well composed view in the background. Superb work!

pour qu'elle garde tout son côté romantique j'aurai carrément supprimer les voitures à droite.

Super, Grazyno. Jak z bajki o Wielkij Milosci w Paryzu. No i ta sepia. Zrobil sie klimat ponadczasowy. Gdyby nie te nowoczesne samochody i plastikowa reklamowka w reku, zupelnie nie mozna byloby powiedziec, kiedy zdjecie zrobiono. Super.

Le temps de trois photos et hop je suis dépassé..:-)
Je reprend le bus avec celle-ci qui est très bien réalisé une belle version Sepia.
Le point de vue est bien sur très bien choisi, et il se dégage de cette photo un sentiment romantique incroyable.

Allo Grazyna! Encore moi! J'espère que je ne t'ennuie pas! ;)
J'avoue, en partant, que le sépia et moi, on n'a pas tellement d'atomes crochus. Je ne dois pas être dans une période "brun" présentement... C'est pourquoi cette photo ne soulève pas mon enthousiame total. Mais, si je fais abstraction de ça, je vois de très bons points forts à l'image. Je ne sais à quelle ouverture tu as pris ta photo, mais j'aime bien avoir cette belle netteté de l'avant et de l'arrière-plan. Un arrière-plan qui me fait nettement rêver plus que l'avant-plan. Que veux-tu, en vieillissant, je me découvre plus des envies de voyages que des envies de romances... Le "détail" qui fait le plus : le bateau juste au bon endroit. Couper à droite? Hmm.. Je sais pas... peut-être... mais pas sûre du tout...

Superbe photo et superbe note sur un thème roi ! Bravo. En noir et blanc elle doit être pas mal aussi : le sépia colle mal, de mon point de vue, avec l'attitude "moderne" du couple, alors que le N&B s'affranchit du temps...

Coucou Grazyna, elle est superbe cette photo, elle se vendrait très bien dans les kiosques parisiens j'en suis sur. Le sepia un peu violacé est très judicieux, ces faibles contrastes donnent un aspect vieilli par le temps. Pourtant cette scène est résolument contemporaine, mais on pourrait la croire vieille de 40 ans :)
D'une manière générale elles sont réussies tes photos de Paris, plus tournées verrs la recherche de la proximité, des petites scènes de tous les jours, des gens, de l'émotion ... plutot que vers la recherche des plus gros batiments et monuments/

What a impressive shot and l like sepia tones, this tone is very suitable for romantic atmosphere. It has a fascinating composition with the nice couple with the nice background details. Every thing is well done about the image. But It would be better if you did not cut the legs of couple:)

I select this one to my favorite. I don´t like sepia efects photo, but this convince me a lot!
There´s an extraordinary backgoung (the river, the boat, those buildings) and a normal scene of everyday enjoyed by this friends. It´s very interesting and is the first TE photo that I sign as my favorite.Contgratulations!

C'est grâce aux photos comme celle-ci qu'un jour j'irai visiter Paris. Les couleurs monochromes donne une dimension intemporelle à la photo, ce qui nous fais bien comprendre comment vous imaginiez Paris il y a de ça plus de 18 ans.

Même si je n'ai jamais visité Paris, je pense que c'est une photo très representative de cette ville (peut-être parce que en Grèce, Paris est considerée comme une ville très romantique). Tous les elements de cette photo sont uniques et avec une importance speciale.

The composition would have been good without the couple, but with them it is excellent. It's a perfect shot to represent the romantic city of Paris. Excellent sharpness, great timing, good choice for sepia. TFS
