Home of the Celtic tribe the "Tricasse" (IInd century-BC), City of Augustobona under the Roman Empire, Troyes became the capital of the County of Champagne in the Xth century, and maintained an important position in the Kingdom until the XVIth century.

Meeting point between merchants from all over medieval Europe with its fairs, leading religious town, these prestigious times have left many testimonies that can still be seen and admired nowadays.
