Modern Government

On both sides of the river Spree in central Berlin, not far from the historic building of the Reichstag, which houses the German parliament, the Bundestag, are several other buildings which are part of the government complex. One of them is seen here, the Marie-Elisabeth-Lüders-Haus, which is home to the parliamentary library. It was built between 1998 and 2003 and named after Marie-Elisabeth Lüders (1878-1966), a German politician and women’s rights activist.
