Photographer's Note
The Blautopf is a well in Blaubeuren, a small town in Germany's province Baden-Württemberg. It is named because of its beautiful, turquoise water that flows straight out of a hole in the ground from a deep subterran karst cave -- the Blauhöhle ("Blue cave").
Unlike most other small wells, it features a number of regional legends and tales like in example the one of the beautiful Lau, which might be the best known story of them. For further reading have a look at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blautopf
