Berchtesgaden is a municipality in the German Bavarian Alps. It is located in the south district of Berchtesgadener Land in Bavaria, near the border with Austria, some 30 km south of Salzburg and 180 km southeast of Munich. It is situated north of the Nationalpark Berchtesgaden.
Berchtesgaden is often associated with the Mount Watzmann, at 2713 m the third-highest mountain in Germany, which is renowned in the rock climbing community for its Ostwand (East Face), and a deep glacial lake by the name of Königssee (5.2 km²). Another notable peak is the Kehlstein mountain (1835 m) with its Kehlsteinhaus (Eagle's Nest), which offers spectacular views to its visitors.

Beautiful architecture, well composed with the road dissecting the picture, with the glimpse of the Alps in the background. Colorful and cozy, I remember it as such also.

Bonjour Asa,
sans doute la plus belle région d'Allemagne. En bordure de montagne, avec beaucoup d'activité, voilà des points d'intéret certains pour la photo.
On peut y ajouter la beauté des façades, finement colorés.

A good capture of this busy square with its mix of interesting architecture, which sit well under those cloud covered mountain peaks. I like the soft light and natural colours.

Look, thre is so clean on the streets, you can eat directly from the side-walk. :)
Typicar Bavarian roofs and windows. Nice place, anyway, but Hitler had a better view from Eagle's Nest! ;)

Hi Asa,
colourful view of Berchtesgaden, the usage of the street for depth is good. I like the good composition with the people inside the town and the background peaks, partly covered by clouds. Have you visited the salt mine there?

Been there seen that as well, shows how busy the place is in summer, by far not my favorite place in Germany but I understand that due to its surroundings it has important touristic appeal.

I think the atmosphere in this typical Southern town is well captured!

A nice corner of Germany. If it is such a nice place I my plan a trip to know this town. Is that street with so many people a 'Fußgängerzone', like many cities have in Germany?
I like this viewpoint, the city in the foreground, with all its life, and in the background the alps, with a partially cloudy sky.

Thanks for the critique written.
I can admire endless amount of architechture's photos, showing life-styles throughout our planet - and this one is no exception: the round gate-tower is an eyes catching element, especially with the mural depicted on.
People added lovely tones to the view, and the mountains on far side gave frame to the town scenery.
