Photographer's Note

Traditional beach booths in Cuxhaven. The weather is often not that optimal for beach life on the shores of the North Sea and the Baltic Sea. Such booths provide shelter from the wind and extend the summer season.

Hello Kari,
This is an interesting shot with many points of interest throughout. The inclusion of the boat adds motion and direction for the shot. The lighting is great and the photo has fine color and detail.

Hello Kari,

Well, this is a revelation!
I have never seen huts like this before!
And, there aren't any on ebay!
But, they are so sensible.
Are they just closed up and left on the beach or do the owners carry them away after use?

A well judged shot, nicely composed with fine f/g details and a ferry in the b/g to give a sense of location.

in Italia non siamo abituati a queste scene, andare al mare da noi è un po' diverso, per cui la foto crea curiosità.
Ottima composizione e bei colori, la scena ci offre molta tranquillità e pace, lo dimostra anche il cane.

Hello Kari,
A really nice and colourful view with a touch of humour. It seems that most people here prefer to protect themselves from the winds from the sea, while others would rather catch as much as possible of the sun. I like the inclusion of the ferry and the dog, balancing each other quite nicely near opposite corners. This makes me think of the old song "Little Boxes".

Hi Kari,
nice the view of this section of the traditional beach booths in Cuxhaven.Strange that the ground is covered from the grass and not for sand.The people just enjoy the sun but none is in the sea.

A beach without sand but a nice green carpet!
Different people enjoy of this beach at the North Sea.
Colours and sharpness are excellent made.
Nice light too.

Portable cabanas! I wonder how long they have been in existence but they haven't reach the U.S. beaches yet. It's an excellent idea, maybe I'll start making them. Awesome capture with good lighting and sharp details. Well done, tfs.

Hello Kari,

Very neat and orderly in keeping with German tradition. And so very different from southwest Turkish Mediterranean beach resorts! I like the layered composition of green grass, dark blue sea, and paler cyan sky. The Alsatian at bottom right nicely breaks the pattern. Tfs!

the wonderful summer weather and people enjoying a day by the sea combined with the interesting location convey a feeling of positivity and a carefree mood. A lovely shot reminding us of the best days of summer. Those colorful booths dotted along the shore are a super detail.

Strange beach: no sand but grass! These nice booths are very usefull when the wind is blowing, this is not the case today. Good to have waited for a boat to travel on the sea.

at this time we are facing a typical sunny day at the end of winter in my hometown, lots of strong sun and you can even burn your skin, at same time mornings and nights can be something cold yet, but the frost time is gone. anyway the springtime is arriving.
curious these benches for enjoy the few time of sun these locals have. very nice details like the dog and the sea ahead.
