A street full of clowns on Carnival....happy day or horror image for some?
.........
Rosenmontag (Rose Monday) is the highlight of the German "Karneval" (carnival), and is on the Shrove Monday before Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. "Mardi Gras," though celebrated on Tuesday, is a similar event. Rosenmontag is celebrated in German-speaking countries, including Germany, Austria and Switzerland, but most heavily in the "Hochburgen" (carnival strongholds), which include the Rhineland, especially in Cologne, Bonn, Düsseldorf, Aachen and Mainz.[4] In contrast to Germany, in Austria, the highlight of the carneval is not Rosenmontag, but Faschingsdienstag (Shrove Tuesday).

Hi Adrian,
I am ot fan of clowns myself to be honest, and for me I'd go with horror movie :). The strong sunlight has created a very unusual effect here, it gives a kind of frenetic sense to the moment of the people and the arm raised adds to that a lot. The banners hanging in the only empty space add a very strange feel too, perfectly apt for carnival clowns.
Cheers
Noel
