Katz Castle (German: Burg Katz) is a castle above the German town of St. Goarshausen in Rhineland-Palatinate.
This magnificent castle stands on a ledge looking downstream from the riverside at St. Goar. It was first built around 1371 by Count William II of Katzenelnbogen. The castle was bombarded in 1806 by Napoleon and rebuilt in the late 19th century, in 1896–98.
It is now privately owned, and not open for visitors.

Guten Tag Dimitris,

A fine night view of Katz Schloss, enhanced by the lights highlighting its architecture. Its position on a mountain top high above the Rhine makes it even more spectacular.
When visiting the Rhine River area I visited and glimpsed many attractive castles and Katz was intriguing but only seen from afar.

Difficult to work out from the thumbnail, but well worth a click. Lovely shot by night that looks like a fairy tale Castle, you have such a great eye for the perfectly composed shot and this is no exception. Stunning light and warm colour, you should be pleased with this result. Seriously impressive!

Hello Dimitris,
although the Katz is not an attractive or lovely castle, your photo is good and has been taken just at the right time before drowning in black darkness.
You only mentioned the cat. But what about the mouse (Burg Maus)?

Πολύ ωραία και εντυπωσιακή αυτή η φωτογραφία σου τόσο για το επιβλητικό και ενδιαφέρον κάστρο που παρουσιάζει όσο και για την ευκρίνεια που πέτυχες από μεγάλη απόσταση και δύσκολες συνθήκες φωτισμού.
