Paragliding in the Black Forest

After leaving Strasbourg, we entered Germany and drove east, crossing the Black Forest (Schwarzwald), a forested mountain range in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. We had a break not far from the town of Oppenau at a height of almost 1,000 metres and near the starting point of local paragliding club, Oppenauer Gleitschirmflieger.

Hallo Lars,
Ik heb slechts één maal in mijn leven een paraglidingvlucht gemaakt (een duo vlucht wel te verstaan). Dat was in Nepal en de zichten waren spectaculair.
Ook het Zwarte Woud biedt prachtige landschappen om over te vliegen. Ik zou het heel graag nog eens meemaken. De vragen die je je vooraf stelt, verdwijnen onmiddellijk zodra je in de lucht bent :)
Mooie scherpe foto met het kleurrijke zeil volledig open en een goed zicht op de beboste hellingen.

Hej Lars,
Jag antar att nästa bild visar utsikten från din egen flygtur. För du kan väl inte vara sämre än Paul? ;.)
Tills vidare duger den här bilden väldigt bra. Det färgglada seglet är vackert utspänt mot den lätt grå himlen, över de olika gröna tonerna av bergssluttningarna och flygaren själv.

I saw lots of people in the kitesurf where I was in my last holidays. there are some areas for paragliding in my region too, but these areas aren't so special. nice moment registered.

It's possible to go paragliding in Australia, so I am more interested in the Black Forest, an area of Germany I missed. Good sharpness and well framed and composed. Tfs!

Hello Lars,

Today, you show us natural scenery of hills and conifer forests. The extended parasail adds a similar curved shape but, by contrast, adds a variety of new colours.

The paraglider is looking upwards, towards his parasail, and we can sense the anticipation of lift-off!
You have added emotion as well as clearly shown us the scene.

Goedemiddag Lars,

Ik heb veel bewondering voor de mensen die het wagen om een delta vlieger te besturen.
Natuurlijk wad u op het perfect moment om de foto aftedrukken.
Zie ik hier de Franse vlag staan dus veronderstel ik dat het een Fransman zou kunnen zijn.
Prachtig en in overleg genomen.

Hello Lars, an excellent viewpoint where the canopy is fully inflated and seen against the sky.
We get a real impression of the power of the wind, as this man looks about to take off. And yet, the wind-sock isn't blowing straight out!

Hi Lars,
The Black Forest is so famous but I remember being disappointed to see that it is just a forest, so having the paraglider is a great way to present it with some added interest and color. Very good idea.

Dag Lars,
Deze foto brengt weer leuke herinneringen terug van deze man die maar niet kon opstijgen.
Een hele tijd hield hij niet het paraglidingscherm aan een touwtje vast, maar ook ons. Dat gaf ons wel weer de mogelijkheid een uitgebreide serie foto’s te maken.
