Today it is my 17th TE-anniversary and to celebrate this, here’s a photo of the charming waterfront of Lindau with the tower called Mangturm. It was built in the 12th century as part of the town defence works and was also used as an early lighthouse until 1856.

Lep pogled, dobar tekst ...
Lepo mesto u luci i stara arhitektura. dobro pokazano sa lepim bojama, kontrastom, perspektivom i uhvacenim trenutkom.
Dobar rad, lepa fotografija.

Goedenavond Lars,

Proficiat met uw zeventiende verjaardag op TE, precies een jaartje later dan ik.
Uw foto toont alles wat men zou verlangen hoe een foto er zou moeten uitzien.
Natuurlijk de toren spring er ver boeven uit, op dit panorama beeld

Hallo Lars,
Gelukwensen met je 17de verjaardag op deze site!
Bij deze toren valt behalve zijn hoogte ook het artistieke dak op. Geen twijfel dat de toren uitstekend zal gefunctioneerd hebben als vuurtoren.
Mooie foto van de waterkant aan de Bodensee en rechts vangen we ook een glimp van een marina op.
Sterk contrast tussen licht en schaduw.

So you are older than me. But only here in TE. This trip of yours is like mine. I remember well this tower from Lindau. great colours on a sunny day.

Grattis på födelsedagen! Har du kanske tillbringat halva ditt liv på TE? ;-)
Det är intressant att du visar från marken ungefär vad Kari visar från luften. Ljuset och skärpan blir onekligen bättre såhär, men jämförelserna är ändå spännande. Tornet är vackert, och det ser ut att vara ett trivsamt ställe. Möjligen hade du kunnat lätta upp det skuggiga området lite.

Dag Lars,
Mooie oude toren met een soort bourgondisch dak in het volle zonlicht. Het hele stadje ziet er erg aantrekkelijk uit, mooie foto.

Superb composition and pov with a slight off-centre of the main focal - I believe is a hit landmark in town! The sunkissed light is just perfect with soft foreground detail backed by blue background. It's a very impressive looking tower so very well registered here. Congrats

This attractive style of roof decoration can also be seen at Stephansplatz in Vienna as well as areas of Romania settled by the Saxons. Probably in Poland and Czech Republic as well. Good sharpness and framing using the rule of thirds. Tfs!

16th was like yesterday :-)
As usual, what an amazing photo to celebrate your 17 years of contribution to this site.
Honestly, I can't remember this tower as I was in Lindau , 2007. I do recognize the waterfront and town.
Nevertheless, I like this tower esp the roof ... very 'Missoni' :-) Stunning against the deep blue sky and small thin clouds.
It's very beautiful atmosphere ... busy yet restful feel to it.
Thanks for 'jogging my memory' of Lindau.

This looks like a pretty little town, close to the river, with an eclectic mix of buildings, and a vibrant, alfresco restaurant.

I remember this tower, it is frequently used in postcards from this area. No surprise it is very characteristic and with lovely pattern on the roof.

Without a doubt, this superb tower is the protagonist, of the composition's greatest attraction, with its remarkable height and the colorful pyramidal roof, a beautiful setting also next to the lake.
A nice natural colors, very good lighting and sharpness.
