Photographer's Note

May Day on the island of Hydra. Kind of ironic, as Hydra is a small rocky island, quite dry nowdays. Of course, from this point of view, even it's name (from "hydor"=water in ancient greek) is ironic. They say it was named thus, because in antiquity times there were numerous water springs.
In any case, none of this stopped the people of this pictursque island from appropriately celebrating the May Day, in the traditional way: hanging flower wreaths on the doors.
I spent the May Day there, with a few friends. And coming back to the irony I was talking about earlier, it was the most cloudy and windy day in some time, while the previous and the next day (today) have been all sunny and quite warm.

Hydra belongs to Attiki and is part of the Piraeus Prefecture, although it is geografically much closer to the coast of Argolis. It's a small island (about 20km long) with less than 2500 population.

Post processing: Cropped just a little.
Processed a small reflection on the glass with the effects brush tool to make it less distracting.
Added contrast.
Sharpened.

Γειάσου Ιωάννα, όμορφο κάδραρισμα και σύνθεση.
Έκανες πολύ καλά που την τράβηξες, το στεφανι στην πόρτα και τα παραθυράκια έχοντας και αυτά ένα ξεχωριστό θέμα με εντυπωσιάζουν.

Μία όμορφη φωτογραφία, γεματη απο ανοιξιάτικη δροσιά.
Εντυπωσιακό το πολύχρωμο Μαγιάτικο στεφάνι με φόντο την άσπρη πόρτα, κλέβει την παράσταση.

Great composition, I like color balance in this shot some lines are curved by lens effect this shows you crop left part of photo to frame it.

the cute contrast of the colorful wreath with the almost monochromatic environment,
plus the tight and effective composition,
minus the distorted door frame...
