Photographer's Note

Kokori's or Noutsou Bridge was built during the Ottoman Occupation of Greece (and the whole Balkans), probably during the 18th or 19th century.

The bridge craftsmen of Epirus, where Zagori is, were notorious for their craftsmanship and were most wanted for that at the entire Greece and neighboring countries.

They would leave their villages in the spring time in groups of 40 up to 80 persons and return just before the winter after they had built the bridge.
